Pre-Kindergarten Bee Talk

Today Byron Miller and I (Erin Mullins) went to Horace Mann Lab School in Maryville and talked with the kids about bees and beekeeping. One of the moms baked biscuits so that the kids could try the honey and I think most liked it. It was lots of fun and I think the kids and teachers enjoyed it a lot.

Here are some of the pictures from today.

  1. What topics did you cover in your program with the kids and how long did you speak? I am presenting to a kindergarten class next week. I can't wait!

    1. Sorry For this being so late! We just went over some of the basics of beekeeping like the equipment, jobs of the different bees, and basically asked questions they had. It was hard to keep them focused since we had live bees there. We spoke for about an hour but that included trying honey. One of the moms made biscuits to try the honey on. It was a success. I would love to hear about your presentation for ideas.
